GLAZED HARD PORCELAIN TITANIUM OXIDE ALUMINIUM OXIDE ALUMINA - ZIRCONIA
ZIRCONIUM OXIDE SILICON CARBIDE SILICON NITRIDE PRODUCTION PROCESSES

GLAZED HARD PORCELAIN
with high aluminium content
The product Porcelain is obtained from sintering of various minerals such as clay, kaolin, feldspar, and quartz, with the addition of alumina.

Properties Good mechanical properties and electrical insulation: it is used glazed.

Applications Thread guides for delicate threads and medium-low stresses, without high dimensional precision.

Production processes   Extrusion; dry and wet pressing; isostatic pressing.

Technical data The following table gives physical and mechanical data. Material data are obtained from specimens according to international test specifications. The indicated values can't be extended to components and parts with different shapes and surface finishings.

Surface finishings Porcelain is used with glazed surfaces. The glaze is designed to increase the object’s mechanical resistance. In fact it pre-stresses the piece and reduces its porosity, thus lowering roughness and the friction coefficient.
Bettini glaze is a ceramic mixture of high hardness, very resistant to wear of natural and synthetic fibres.
