CHARACTERISTICS AND ADVANTAGES OF COATED METAL THREAD GUIDES.

Bettini produces a wide range of types of metal thread guides (wire and sheet). To increase steel resistance to wear and corrosion, all these articles are completed at our facilities with surface treatments: hard chromium plating, chemical nickel plating, zinc plating, plasma ceramic coating and the innovative DLC coating (Diamond Like Carbon).

The production of thread guide elements from coated metal or from stainless steel may be beneficial for various reasons, depending on the solutions adopted:
- Optimal hardness;
- Elasticity;
- Resistance to wear;
- Resistance to corrosion;
- Optimal reaction to friction;
- Electrostatic conductivity;
- Wide range of production options and choice of solutions, in other words:
- Highly complex forms;
- Large dimensions if required;
- Possibility of assembly (mounting, gluing, welding etc.) also combining different materials (ceramic, plastic etc.).
- Choice of different base materials and different combinations of bases and coatings;
- Wide range of combinations of roughness, level of polishing, and coating thickness.
- Possibility of limiting wear protection treatment only where required
- Investments for moulds generally minimal, or in some cases not required at all.
- Possibility of producing limited pre-series if required
